A Rose Vintage Dress

You many have noticed that you haven’t heard from me a lot last month. I’ve been working on a big project for work and have seen the wife for a total of an hour a day at the most! Well that’s what it felt like.

I had a few blog posts planned and most are still in draft but simply have had no time or energy to finish them – sorry. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to just my beauty sleep has been more important.

I had written a piece all about blogging and why do we do it. However on reading it back it was a bit depressing and have decided against making it live. After all life’s too short, I just need to get out of my doubting stage. In it’s place I thought I would share my new vintage dress I picked up a few weeks ago at The Kent County Showground Antiques Fair. I spotted it from a far distant and hoped in the time it took me to get to it that it was my size!

It was the pink roses and the garden scene in the background that I really liked. Some may say it’s a bit busy but for me it’s at home with the rest of my collection. The fact it fitted and had the belt still with it was an added bonus!

I also managed to get the cost down to £25 which I was so happy with and on reflection I have come along way with this. Before I started this blog I would never have tried to get money knocked off, I would have just paid the cost requested but as in life and shopping ‘If you don’t ask you don’t get!’.

I wore this to my best friend’s baby shower and it was perfect for such a special event. Plus it washed really well. As I’m sure you can guess I’m a little in love with my new buy and as I write this piece I’m wearing it again!

It’s not the only dress I have brought since my last blog, in fact I have gone a little crazy. I will make up for the lack of outfit posts in April now I have some time and a lot more clothes!

So hope you agree the dress is pretty special and I think very fitting to say a happy 2 years to me on WordPress. I can’t believe it’s been that long. Hope you have enjoyed the journey with me so far.

Any of you been blogging that long? Got any tips to help me get out of my doubting stage? Or simply tell me about a fab find you have got recently were you managed to get some money off. x

    1. Thanks for the kind words and for putting me straight on the blogging! Think I needed that! Hope you had a nice bank holiday weekend – do any crafting? X

  1. Thats a gorgeous dress! No don’t stop ~ you are one of my fave reads. Happy Blog Birthday! It will be three years for me in july which I am amazed by. The truth with me is….I love sharing photos. I was ( and still am) the person who drags all her old photo albums out when anyone visits. Like some crazy old aunt. I’m the same about my blog.lol. 🙂

    1. I can’t believe I’m one of your favourite reads, that means a lot! Three years is amazing! You put a lot of work into your blog and your photo an hour are always fun to follow. I know what you mean about the photo sharing I read everything by photos always have done. x

  2. Your vintage dress is absolutely stunning!! Love, love, love both the pattern and fabric. I look forward to seeing some of your other projects on your blog. Cheerio for now.

    1. Glad you like this piece, I found it at a large vintage fair I went to and got it for a great price. It was the fabric that sold it to me. I didn’t make it myself I am afraid but am hoping to make some like this style as I love wearing dresses like this. x
