Lloyd Loom Luck

Over the years I’ve started to think of myself as a lucky person. I’ve won free holidays, met the wife and been given some wonderful pieces from people who thought of me so have passed them along (how lucky is that!).

My latest gift I just have to show off to you all. Isn’t it a beauty?

Yes you heard right it was given to me. The mother in law was contacted by a friend of hers who has sadly lost her mother recently and was sorting through her things. She came across a few pieces of vintage treasures and thought of me.

As soon as I saw the pictures I could tell how long they had been part of the family home and they had clearly been loved. There were two sideboards that looked wonderful but unfortunately we have no room in the house. As you all know we are over flowing! However the sight of two pink chairs filled me with determination that I wasn’t giving these up without a fight.

They looked fab, were a wonderful shade of pink and looked as good as the day they were bought. I knew I would never get the pair past the wife so asked if I could take one.

Some of you out there maybe shouting at me as you read this that I spilt them up but it was the only way I was going to get my hands on one.

When I got home to see it I was so happy.

It’s just as wonderful in real life, it’s low wicker back and strong colour makes it the perfect piece to have in our home and it’s really comfortable! I also found the original label of the chair which shows it’s a Lloyd Loom.

I feel so honoured to have been given the chair which had been in her family for more than 50 years. I placed a cushion on it which I already owned and placed it in the back room as if it had always been there.

I hope I can give it another 50 years of love.

Like I said I’m a lucky girl – don’t you think?
