It seems Valentine’s day is once again creeping upon us and it’s a day for us all to tell our loved one’s we care. Well that’s what the card shops say anyway! Actually the wife and I have a number of dates that are special to us throughout the year; the date we first met (although I always manage to get the month wrong!), when we went to New York (I got my amazing ring and said yes), our wedding anniversary and when we moved into our house.
On these particular days we may do something to mark the occasion, cook something a bit special (not me though as I can’t cook), get a card for each other, maybe send flowers or just send a small message to say we have remembered. I bought a lottery ticket the other week (I didn’t win anything of course) but as soon as the wife saw the numbers she knew why I had picked all but one. To be fair the one she didn’t get was our old house number backwards as the lottery doesn’t go high enough!
I often think of Valentine’s day as a key date for people who haven’t made any milestones together as yet. Maybe they have been dating for just a few months, maybe it’s a chance to find out once and for all if you are a item (or what ever they call it now a days). Either way doing something together on Valentine’s day is still really nice even if you have your own dates and have been together for years! I mean who doesn’t love gifts and a card telling you someone loves you. So what ever you do this Friday I hope you tell someone you care.
Below is a collection of Mrs Fox’s pieces for sale with the traditional idea of Valentine’s day in mind. Together with a few things I own which I think would make wonderful gifts for a loved one or maybe just a friend.
Hope this has given you some ideas. Let me know if you have any nice plans for your loved one.
By the way what do you think of my new photo?
