As you all know, I love weddings so I jump at any chance to get involved now I don’t have my own big day to plan.

So when the wife and I were invited to a hen party of a close friend, I knew I had to make a gift for her. We weren’t asked to bring one, but I’m a little old fashioned and so set to work making something I thought she would like and could keep.
In the past I have made friends scrap books with memories of our time together and these have gone down well. But I knew this lady would like something a bit more “girly” that sparkled.
I wanted to capture the classic saying:Something old Something new Something borrowed Something blue
I decided to make a veil she could wear at her hen party. I used some of the lace which I had left over from my wedding head piece so it would be ‘Old‘.
I sewed this onto a headband I had bought as the something ‘New‘ and added some buttons on as the something ‘Blue‘.
I was pleased she liked it and wore it out for dinner.
I also made something a little blue in more way than one – I couldn’t help myself!
The last gift was something ‘borrowed‘ but I can’t share this with you as it’s top secret!
So once all wrapped up, they were ready for the party.
I took the chance to try out my crazy new jacket!
Have you ever made something for a hen party? Any ideas you have for gifts? – Do share!
