A Disney motto – Let it go

Over Christmas the wife and I went to see the new Disney film Frozen.

As you all know I’m a big fan of Disney which is why we went to Florida for Honeymoon number two (yes I am a lucky lady), so any new Disney film tends to make me feel like a five year old again. This one even more so because it has one of my favourite musical theatre stars, Idina Menzel, voicing one of the main character’s. She plays Elsa, a princess whose touch can turn anything to ice.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to see Idina Menzel live in the opening run of Wicked in London and I can see why she won a Tony Award for the role.  Her voice is amazing.

Even as a Disney and Idina fan I still could not believe just how much I loved the film. If any of you out there have not seen it and have children you MUST go. It’s really magical and I felt like a child again. Anyway the point of me telling you all this is one of the songs in the film has stayed with me ever since. I simply can’t listen to it enough. It’s called ‘Let it go’ and is of course sung by the great Idina. The video below maybe 4 minutes long but to watch the castle grow out of ice is a must.

The words that stood out to me where:

Let it go, let it go

I am one with the wind and sky

Let it go, let it go

You’ll never see me cry

Here I stand

And here I stay

Let the storm rage on

So there you have it my new motto is – Let it go! I can tell you one thing, so far it’s being working for me really well. If anything happens which isn’t good I just think of the song and – Let it go!

To top off the Frozen love I came across this amazing vintage dress a few weeks ago for Mrs Fox’s stall, it may not be the same as the dress Elsa wears at the end of the video, but I think every snow queen should have one in her wardrobe.

Close ups of the fabric:

Do you have a motto you live by?

  1. This is the second project I have seen on your blog, so far. Your frozen dress is FAB….U….LOUS and I love every thing about it, the material is so beautiful and I love the pattern you have used.

    1. I went though a Frozen stage for awhile! Thinking I was 5 years old not in my thirties…
The dress came from a costume sale and I was pleased with myself I managed to get hold of it!
